Another year almost gone. Some times I feel like I have so little so show for it-but then again we are never where we plan on being in life, are we?
This year has brought a few new friends into my life-and I feel blessed to be close to them after such a short time. My old friends have treated me so well - in spite of the fact that I haven't always been in the best of spirits. My family is all safe, and for the mostly happy. We got to go backpacking together this year and Danny has been safe in Spain.
My living situation has been the best I've had since I moved to Reno and its so nice to lose that stress. I have been able to pay down some of my debts and I have a good job. I still don't have insurance, but I am employed and enjoy my coworkers and my customers. That's more then most can say.
I am blessed to love - and be loved. To have the ability to give and to nourish, and sometimes the humility to accept those things as well. This year has been one filled with learning and personal growth for me, and the realization that sometimes the challenges teach us the best.
May you all be blessed with safety and peace this holiday season.
Love & Light

So the great news is PoliSciGuy got a job as an independent contractor working on the upcoming NV Lt Govn Race.  This is his four compaing season and his resume is getting rather impressive - so they keep paying him more, which is great.  The bad news is he's about 6'1" and has a 28" waist and very lanky arms and legs and needs basically a new wardrobe.  He needs nice jeans and button down shirts and slacks and dress shirts.  I told him last night I'd go with him to go shopping but there is no where in reno where you can even by a 30" off the rack and have it be long enough in the leg, so you end up tailoring everything.  So if there are places in Cali where we can go buy him a new wardrobe please let me know and we'll make a weekend trip of it!
Thanks!

Todays my second day of belly dance class, I feel slow and uncourdinated but I am having a ton of fun!
Also I am considering getting my nipples pierced for my birthday this year.  Any thoughts, suggestions, pros or cons?

Scamp stopped when she reached the top of the pass.  She could see the Salvage in the distance, and relief swept over here.  This summers scouting had been less then successful and ill news seemed to be everywhere.  She'd treked through Nevada to Old Oregon in hopes of new trade contacts and found that even those they had worked with in the past had little extra to barter, what cattle there where looked to thin and the crops had suffered from a new virus this year.  The most dis hearting news though was the raiders that seemed to be making there way closer and closer to the Tahoe Basin - her home.
She scanned the Salvage and saw that what was the foundation for a school house when she left, Cass' idea of course, was now fully built and apperantly in use!  More children then she remembered seemed to be at rescess, once again the population had grown in her absence.  Mamma Cass would take in any who were willing to work.  Monster was out of the garage and loaded to the brim with trade goods, mostly fish she imagined.
Scamp jumped when she heard a man step on to the trai in front of her, then smiled as she recognized Jem, one of the lookouts.
"Where the hell have you been little woman," he said, relief odvious in his voice. "The Boss Lady's been awful cranky, you got her all worried, out so long.  Shes been cuttin' it close not leaving for Davis yet!"
"Good to see you to Jem.  I lost my mule about three weeks back, I shouldn't have taken him out anyway he was to old.  Went lame on me so I traded him for iodine and dry goods to get home."
"Well you better hop on down that hill and get your whippins' and a good lunch!  I'm on duty for a while longer."
"Yeah, yeah.  Thanks Jem."  Scamp shrugged her pack up a little higher on her shoulders and headed down the trail.

Sorry that I don't remember how to cut guys! This was an amazing hike - the lake was the most beautiful I've seen, just stunning. We went 9mi in and camped the night then came back out.

My family and I went on a backpacking trip above Tahoe and I wanted to share some of the beauty we saw.

So it was called to my attention that I haven't posted in awhile and when I do it seems to be about one disaster or another so here is an update on the amazing things in my life!  I am so blessed to have not only a job but a great job when so many are struggling.  I just had one of my best friends move in to my apartment and we are already having so much fun.  We went to Davis to visit some of my friends at a party and the next morning had a great breakfast and then spent a few hours at Ikea before driving home.
I have a family backpacking trip the end of the month and am so excited to spend time with my dad and three of my siblings!  I have a great man in my life and am blessed to call him my best friend.

Kaylee: "Everybody's got somebody..." (wistfully) "Wash, tell me I'm pretty..."

Wash: "Were I unwed, I would take you in a manly fashion."

Kaylee: " 'Cause I'm pretty?"

Wash: " 'Cause you're pretty."

Kaylee: "Thank you. That was very restorative."

Kaylee: (pointing to a pink frilly dress) "Say, look at the fluffy one!"

Zoe: "Too much foofaraw. If I'm going to wear a dress, I'd want something with some slink."

Wash: "You want a slinky dress? I can buy you a slinky dress. Captain, can I have money for a slinky dress?"

Jayne: "I'll chip in."

Zoe: (to Jayne) "I can hurt you."

Inara: "Are you in pain?"

Mal: "Absolutely. I got stabbed, you know. Right here."

Inara: "I saw."

Mal: "Don't care much for fancy parties. Too rough."

Inara: "It wasn't entirely a disaster."

Mal: "I got stabbed! Right here!"

Inara: (pissed) "What did I say to you about barging into my shuttle?"

Mal: "That it was manly and impulsive?"

Inara: "Yes, precisely. Only the exact phrase I used was 'don't'."

Hey all
I think I borrowed out my cream chemise last season - was it to any of you?  Its cream with two different colored bows on the collar, one brown and one rust orange.
Thanks

Text books - even used - are ridiculously expensive!  Even if you buy them used from other students instead of the book store.  And the of course the school decideds to buy the new editions so there are no used books...
It should not cost so much to go to school
